- The second trailer for Boardwalk Empire’s second season dropped on Monday. Two words: hell and yes.
- AMC’s 2010 breakout hit, The Walking Dead, will premiere on October 16 with a 90-minute episode, but will also be splitting its season in half with the season’s first six episodes airing beginning in late October with the final six returning in February 2012. Interesting programming move. Should be interesting to see how it fares.
- The BBC has renewed the Idris Elba starrer, Luther, for a third series (they call them “series” instead of seasons in the UK – wacky Brits) which is very good news for anyone who saw the entertaining first series, particularly the even darker than normal turn the show took in its final episodes. The second series bows on BBC America in September so put it on your radar if you haven’t already.
- Here’s an interview that Alan Sepinwall did with the adorable (seriously, it’s the word you have to use when you describe her, especially because it’s true) Zooey Deschanel about her new Fox sitcom, New Girl. Justin Long has also been added to the cast as Deschanel’s love interest.
- David Cross has landed a recurring role on the upcoming third season of ABC’s Modern Family. That’s a nice start towards getting me back on your side, Modern Family.
- Judy Greer (Arrested Development, Archer) just sold out.
- It would be awesome if Community’s Danny Pudi did this guest spot on Chuck in character as Abed to follow up last year’s cameo on Cougar Town.
- James Gandolfini may be returning to HBO to star in a new project called Big Dead Place. That’s the good news. The bad news? Here’s the description via The AV Club: “The drama is described as ‘a tragicomic eye view of the fear and loathing, arrogance and insanity of the people living and working the last untamed frontier on the planet—the research base at McMurdo Station, Antarctica.’” Enthusiasm, she has waned.
- AMC has greenlit an unscripted series from Kevin Smith called Secret Stash, which is about fanboy culture or, something that Smith knows very, very well. Could be an interesting project and it does carry the (albeit weakened) AMC cache.
- Hey, look! It’s a new Parks And Recreation promo.
- And here’s the first four minutes of this Tuesday’s Sons Of Anarchy season four premiere.
- TNT cancelled Jada Pinkett Smith’s HawthoRNe. I’m sure its three fans maybe cared. Maybe.
- The contenders for the next season of Dancing With The Stars were announced on Monday. And I continue to not give a shit.
- Oh, fuck this.
